GoHealth, GPHCDA commit to provide quality healthcare in Gombe
Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (GoHealth), and the Gombe Primary Health Care Development Agency (GPHCDA), on Monday, signed agreement to facilitate quality service delivery in the State.

This was revealed at the Ground breaking ceremony to mark the signing of the service level agreement of the Basic health care Provision Funds, which took Place at the conference hall of the Medical College, Gombe state University.
In his remarks the Executive Secretary Primary Health Care Development Agency Gombe state, Dr. Abdulrahaman Shuaibu, said the Federal Government in 2014 put in place basic healthcare Funds, meant to Fund Primary Health Care activities for effective service delivery as well as provide financial accessibility and emergency Medical service.
“In our own State the Governor , Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya keyed into the Programme through the payment of one hundred Million (N100,000,000) Naira as counterpart Funds to kick start the process.
“We started with accreditation of health care facilities, building capacity of our health workers a WTCs and also the final verification of health care Facilities.
“I stand before you to say that I am very proud and delighted to inform you that 114 facilities were verified and ready for use to access these funds.”
Also, Dr. Abubakar Musa, Executive Secretary, State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, Gombe State, explained the importance of the collaboration between the State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, and the Primary Health Care Development Agency in rendering good quality service delivery to People and health sector of Gombe State.
“Today we are making very important steps in our journey towards achieving service universal health coverage in Gombe State.
“We shall be signing service level agreement so as to enable our enrolled beneficiaries to have access to basic minimum package of health services, those beneficiaries were selected, using the state social register targeting the poor and vulnerable. The exercise was done in collaboration with facilities especially the ward development committees, and they are ready to accessing health care.
“With the two implementing agencies; the Primary Health Care Development Agency as well as State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, with signed this agreement there will be mutual contracts between the facilities and these two agencies to deliver quality services to our people,” Musa said.
On his part, Commissioner for health, Gombe State, Dr. Habu Dahiru said these facilities selected was just the beginning of the programme and it would be scaled up to other secondary facilities including Private Clinics.
He expressed satisfaction that all the 114 facilities visited had been cleared and accredited by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to provide basic health care.
It would be recalled that the Local government workers and Primary school teachers rejected, the State Contributory Healthcare for non-implementation of the new minimum wage by the Gombe State government.
