Gombe Deputy Governor urges support for EMS of ECWA

Gombe State Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, has called on all Christians to be involved in practical preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ in view of the daunting challenges facing the gospel.

The Deputy Governor made the call during the First Gombe DCC Mission Conference at ECWA Goodnews Church. GRA, Gombe, said the gospel now requires more of living and practising the word of God than quoting of scriptures.
The Deputy Governor who has been sponsoring EMS Workers for long said he knew the challenges those preaching in the field are facing, urging for more support for them to be able to perform effectively.

Jatau commended all those who contributed to the success of the EMS program, urging the organizers to use the proceeds judiciously for the purposes they were meant.
The chairlady of the occasion, Prof. Fatsuma Sawa, the immediate past Provost of Federal College of Horticulture, Dadinkowa called on members of the congregation to show love and support for the EMS Missionaries to be able to meet their transportation needs and other logistics.
She appreciated the sacrifices of the missionaries in the expansion of the kingdom of God, calling on the youths to join the bandwagon of those preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Father of the day, Mr. Habu Zarma, Former INEC Commissioner Taraba State, noted the need for Christians to serve God, using their substances in preparation of day of judgement when God will reward their deeds accordingly.
In his Sermon, the Guest Preacher, Rev. Saleh Hussaini of EMS Kano took his text from the book of Mark Chapter 2. Verse 1-12, and First John chapter 4verse 7-8, charging the congregation to emulate the life of Jesus Christ who throughout his earthly ministry was preaching the gospel of salvation for the reconciliation of man to God.
Speaking on the topic, “Mission work in times like this” the Preacher admonished the congregation to be focused, persistent, and innovative in seeking Jesus and spreading the gospel of salvation to the whole world.
He challenged them that when God places one on a privileged position, it is an opportunity for the person to see the need of assisting in the preaching of the gospel.
The Director Evangelical Mission Society of ECWA International Headquarters, Jos represented by EMS Home Missions National Coordinator, Rev. Yahaya Bungule commended Gombe DCC for setting the pace in EMS by being the first to organize a mission week, and to have an articulated reporting system that was emulated by other DCCs.
He also commended their bicycle and building project for the EMS, calling on the congregation to give in them unalloyed support towards actualization of the goals.
Earlier in his address, the Gombe DCC Chairman, Rev. James Dangombe welcomed all those in attendance, urging them to support the EMS by donating generously towards achieving the goal of procuring 30 Motorcycles and completion of guest house for the EMS workers.
Highlights of the occasion includes presentation of awards to two longest outstanding donors and EMS supportive families, Mr and Mrs.A.A.Tugga and late Mr.and Mrs.Samuel Dalaky as well as songs of praises by various Church subgroups.
