“May I crave the indulgence of corps members to shun any form of social vices like drug abuse, bigotry, membership of cult groups, indecent dressing and hate speech among other things.

“Remember, you were the responsibility of the Government since the day you answered the call to serve your fatherland, but you must help us to keep you safe. Let us put our heads together to ensure that the objective the scheme was established is achieved.
“As a mother, I have observed with keen interest your conduct during this exercise. It has gone a long way to show that you have been found worthy in character and learning to be mobilized for service year. I have no doubt that a crop of vibrant young men and women is been dispersed into the books and crannies of the state for the task of Nation building. Keep up the good work,” Imoni said.
While commenting on the contributory of the scheme in the last 48 years, especially it relates relevance at this auspicious time, the coordinator stressed that NYSC has become a beacon of Hope in the country’s mission for a United Nation.
She added, “In the last forty eight years, the NYSC has exposed millions of youth to the cultures, and traditions of our pluralistic society, while imparting skills and experiences to enhance those you have acquired in school.
“You should build bridges across your origins, religions, and ethnic backgrounds by living peacefully with your fellow compatriots and the peace loving people of Gombe State.
“In order, to bring about positive advancement in your host communities through the third cardinal programme of the scheme; community development service. Initiate and execute viable projects as lasting legacies in your host communities as you strive to leave indelible prints in our rural and urban areas.”
