Gombe mother whose 9months old daughter manifests kidney problem, begs for N110,000
After surviving an accident which nearly claimed her life, woman narrates to correspondent Chima Azubuike, how it caused her child kidney issue.

My husband is a poor man he is bricklayer.

Boltongo, in Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State
Tell us what led to Ummi’s health issue?
We were involved in an accident while I was pregnant, before the delivery of baby Ummi, so when we went to the hospital afterwards they said that she developed kidney problem. Doctors claimed the accident affected the child’s kidney, they said her kidney has become open.
How much have you spent so far?
At specialist hospital we have spent ten thousand (10,000) before they referred us to Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, where we spent twenty thousand (N20,000), and right now we have been referred to Bauchi State for scan and it will cost us fifty thousand (N50,000). They said it is after the scan that they would be able to give us medicine or to operate the girl and the operation cost is said to sixty thousand (N60,000).
What has been the challenges of the child, how has it been adjusting to her condition?
It has not been easy, If they touch the place it usually cause her great pain. You will just hear her cry and even in the hospital they said I should not back her because of pain from the swollen left hand part of her stomach.
How much do you need for the girl to be well?
We are in need of One hundred and ten thousand naira (N110,000), so please we need people to help us, save the life of my baby and I know God will bless you as you give.
