APC Congress: Gombe Gov, Goje, others agree on consensus

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has said the state has agreed on consensus across ward, local governments and state level of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).
He noted that consensus is a constitutional preserve of any party, so the state caucus has chosen it.
Yahaya made this disclosure on Thursday, during stakeholders meeting which held at the banquet hall of the Government House.
The governor who is the leader of the party conveyed the party’s decision in a communique he read to party faithfuls, said the communique is in line with a two page resolution with the guidelines of the party at the national level.

According to Yahaya, “The meeting resolved to adopt a consensus in the forthcoming congresses of the party at the ward, Local government and state levels.
“Secondly, the meeting affirmed loyalty to the leadership of Gov Inuwa Yahaya in providing leadership and direction to the party and in the conduct of all congresses that will come up very soon.”
He added, “Stakeholders are very important in our party because we came into office through their support. Consensus is a constitutional right of every party. We should support the party in getting good candidates that will serve the interest of all.
Also, Former Governor of the state and senator representing Gombe Central Danjuma Goje who also agreed to the medium adopted by the state, urged leaders to support the youth in making the desired impact.
He added that for the party to continue to remain relevant the people must be put first.

On his part, Senator Joshua Lidani harped the need for unity of purpose, while lauding the governor’s development strides.
