Gombe SSG harps entrepreneurship skills among students

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has challenged students of higher institutions of learning to engage in entrepreneurship to gurantee employment after School.

Njodi gave the charge on Thursday, he received in audience the National Executive Members of Kaltungo and Shongom Students (NUKALGOS), at the Government House.
He noted that paper qualifications are needed for employment and other purposes but self reliance through entrepreneurship remains the best in present day economics of the world.
According to him, “It is for this reason that the State Government in addition to providing educational infrastructure is working assidiously towards improving vocational and skills acquisition training for both in and out of school youth to guarantee them opportunity of making decent living.”

While appreciating the students body for the visit, Njodi assured them that government prioritising of education is meant to prepare them for future challenges, urging them to remain resolute and committed to their studies.
Njodi futher explained that the Inuwa Yahaya administration is not unmindful of the cries of poverty among the people hence it’s commitment to the provision of infrastructure which he said are catalyst for economic development and prosperity of the state.
The SSG also appreciated the leadership of NUKALGOS for confering on him the title of “SHELLE MANA” the home eagle of Kaltungo and Shongom in recognition of his contribution to the development of education, unity and growth of Kaltungo and Shongom areas.
He encouraged them to maintain the laudable objectives and activities of the union which involves JAMB tutorials, public enlightenment and Community Services all geared towards improving the lots of the people.
Speaking earlier, National President of NUKALGOS, Comrade Samson Perie, appreciated the opportunity granted them to visit the SSG which he described as a rare opportunity for students like them.
Peri who enumurated the qualities, support and encouragement that Prof. Njodi provides for students of Gombe State and Gombe South in particular, said these and many more informed the Union’s decision to honour him with an award of excellence and a title of SHELLE MANA meaning the home eagle of Kaltungo and Shongom.
The Student leader also intimated the SSG of the noble programmes of the union to include; JAMB tutorials, public lecture and personal Hygiene, Civil rights and Obligations of individuals and groups.
He solicited the support of the State Government towards achieving these lofty ideals which he said were aimed at improving on the wellbeing of the beneficiaries.
He commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the payment of students Scholarship, educational transfomation and other infrastructural developments across the State.
