NYSC Gombe commences environmental sanitation week

Findings at the recently conducted NYSC Health Initiative For Rural Dwellers Nationwide, indicated that ailments recorded and treated had to do with poor sanitation and hygiene practices.

In view of that, Director General of the NYSC , Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim directed NYSC formations across the country to hold NYSC National Environmental sanitation day from 7th to 17th July ,2021.
At the flag off of the exercise at the palace of the district head of Bolari, Alh Ahmed Abubakar Bolari, in Gombe Local Government Area, where stakeholders were sensitised on the essence of the exercise, the State Coordinator Nysc Gombe ,Mrs Ada Imoni said the National Youth Service Corps is passionate about making positive impact in every nook and crannies of the country by offering its services free through the efforts of Corps members.

Mrs Imoni, represented by Assistant Director Community Development Service, Mr Ado Danladi Taura said the NYSC Environmental Sanitation day would take place on Saturday 17th July in the eleven Local Areas of the State .
Meanwhile, the District Head of Bolari, Alhaji Ahmed Abubakar, commended the Scheme for its positive contributions to nation building.
He particularly expressed his gratitude to Managers of the National Youth Service Corps for bringing health intervention to Bolari Community, three years ago through the Health Initiative For Rural Dwellers (HIRD).
He maintained that it has done a lot in fostering national unity and integration, calling for its sustenance.
Lectures on personal hygiene were delivered by Corps medical personnel.
