GOMBE UNITED FC SET QUARTER FINALS TIE WITH NASARAWA UNITED IN 2021 AITEO FEDERATION CUP AFTER BEATING KATSINA UNITED

Gombe United football club have joined three other Nigeria National League (NNL) side in the quarter finals of this year’s Aiteo Federation Cup after defeating NPFL side Katsina United 5-4 on penalties in the round of 16 played at the Ahmadu Bello stadium, Kaduna.
The game which kicked of twenty four minutes passed three ended 1-1 and had to be decided via penalty shoot out.
Rasheed Ahmed capitalized on communication error betwee Gombe United defenders and goalkeeper Itodo Akor to fired in a low shot in the twenty seven minutes.
In-form Barnabas Daniel who has so far notched nine goals in the NNL scored the equaliser for the Savannah Scorpions just four minute into the second half as he smashed the roof of the net with a bullet header from Samuel Oyedeji’s free kick from the left flank.
The Savannah Scorpions will now face in – form Nasarawa United who edged out local rivals Plateau United 3-1 in the quarter finals on a date yet to be announced.
