Gombe North APC passes vote of confidence on Yahaya

All Progressives Congress (APC), members from North senatorial district on Sunday, joined the band wagon of groups passing votes of confidence on Governor Muhammadu Yahaya of Gombe State.
Recall that the state assembly, comprising of 20 APC and 4 PDP members, had done same. However, party members from Gombe central senatorial district followed suit.
Leader of the district, Saidu Alkali, who read this in a communique said the decision was due to the efforts of the present administration, adding that it is unequalled in the recent past.
Alkali who is also the Senator representing Gombe North said it based on the committee of a whole saying that,
“We the key stakeholders of the All-Progressives Congress (APC), Gombe North Senatorial District have held an enlarged stakeholders meeting today, Sunday 29th August 2021, in Kwami, Kwami LGA where we deliberated extensively on a wide range of issues around governance, security and progress of our dear state as well as the success, unity and progress of our great party.
“We strongly appreciate the giant and unprecedented developmental strides being witnessed in Gombe State under the able leadership of His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya in all facets of human endeavour in these challenging times and also commend his avowed commitment to the sustenance of the prevailing peace and security in our dear state.
“All members of our great party are proud to be associated with the successes of the APC-led administration under the exemplary leadership of His Excellency Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya in addressing the long-standing infrastructural deficits throughout the state, entrenching inclusive growth and development, and pursuing all-encompassing reforms in the public sector for improved service delivery.
“We particularly note with great pride how His Excellency successfully and unprecedentedly put Gombe State on the global map by making our dear state the number one state in ease of doing business among the 36 states and the FCT.
“As leader of the Party we have recognise the sincerity of His Excellency Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, to unite all members of our party, we unanimously resolved to support him by working assiduously to promote unity, stability and peace among all members of our great party and the state at large.”
While urging members of the party on loyalty, Alkali stressed that they would benefit from more dividends of democracy.
He added, “We are deeply concerned by the recent antics of some elements within our party and in the opposition to cause discord and rancour amongst members of our party and we hereby appeal to all our members to ignore the shenanigans of these merchants of trouble and remain steadfast in their commitment and loyalty to the party and government.
“We assure all loyal members of our great party that His Excellency will continue to carry everyone along, as he has been doing for the past two years, as evidenced in the appointment of numerous sons and daughters of Gombe North into key positions in his administration.”
Also speaking, Chairman Gombe North senatorial district stakeholders planning committee, Amb. Yerima Abdullahi said politicians must desist from using politics as source of increasing wealth, adding that there are other profitable ventures individuals can embark on.
The former envoy to Malaysia noted that the governor has been doing well, adding that the zone would not fail to tell the governor should he be wrong.
“Leadership is a burden, so the need to have positive heart when seeking to lead. Politics is for the growth of the people but getting into politics to be rich is very bad,” Abdullahi said.
