Bayana Bayana of South Africa, Wins the Aisha Buhari Invitational Women’s Cup

The Super Falcons of Nigeria, lost to Bayana Bayana of South Africa on tuesday in a humiliating defeat as they failed to lift the Maiden edition of the Aisha Buhari Invitational Women’s Football Cup.

The South African ladies took every single opportunity they had as they outplayed the Super Falcons in the final match hosted by the remodeled Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan, Lagos, saw the visiting South Africans beating the Super Falcons with a 4-2 margin to claim the trophy.
The disappointing and humiliating first half, humbled the Super Falcons to their knees as they conceived 3 goals.
Alozie Michelle of Nigeria, gifted the South Africans an early own in the 6th minutes of the game.
In a few moment, the South African ladies swiftly added a second goal from the penalty spot through Motlhalo Linda foot, and Salgado Gabriela’s header, made it a third goal, just before the first half break.
The Super Falcons gained back their lost possession in the second half and got an early goal through Ikechukwu Vivian, who came in as a substitute and she scored another goal, considered to be one of the best goals of the Women’s tournament to close the gap to 3-2.
Through another penalty, the Bayana Bayana added a fourth goal, few minutes to the end of the match to make it 4-2.
