Following the demise of late Ahmad Sagir, a supporter of the Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Yahaya, the Governor, commiserated with the family of the deceased.
The governor who had attended the Janazah (funeral) prayer on Sunday, led a delegation to the deceased’s family home for condolence on Tuesday.

Sagir was a supporter of the Yahaya led administration, who fell off a moving vehicle, in the governor’s convoy, conveying sound system to an empowerment programme in Bajoga, Funakaye Local Government, where he sustained head injuries that led to his demise.
The deceased also known as Khalifa, was popular for providing promotional songs on moving vehicle pre 2019 election and post transition years.
Yahaya who was accompanied by top government functionaries on the condolence visit, described the party faithful as respectful, hard working, “He was a promising youth who was known for his staunch support for APC.”
The Governor commiserated with the father of the deceased, Malam Muhammad Sagir and the entire family members as well as APC leadership, “May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannat Firdaus,” Yahaya said.
Findings by our correspondent revealed that Yahaya, who could not abort his schedule directed the ambulance on his convoy to disengage and immediately rush the victim to the state Specialist Hospital for emergency medical attention.
“He shortened the duration of the empowerment programme in Sagir’s honour, to attend his funeral prayer,” a source said.
