FCH Dadin Kowa mourns pioneer bursar

The Provost and Chief Executive of Federal College of Horticulture, Dadin Kowa, Gombe State,Dr. Babawuro Mahmoud Ali on Saturday, mourned late Dr. Umar Modibbo, the pioneer Bursar of the College who died late evening on Saturday after a prolonged illness at his residence in Bauchi.
Modibbo who has since been buried after the funeral prayer, said on his behalf on Sunday morning at Gwallaga Central Mosque, Bauchi.
Speaking during the condolence visit, the Provost and few members of his Management Staff condoled the family of the deceased, praying God to grant them solace and the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He commended Modibbo for his stint of hard work, who took his work seriously and committed to his duties without compromise.
Dr. Umar Modibbo was the pioneer Bursar of Federal College of Horticulture, Dadin Kowa,Gombe State since 29th November,2004.
Modibbo was born on 24th December,1964 in Gombe, he also had a sound educational background and a good working experience.
He worked with the Bauchi State Government from 1985 to 1993 and later proceeded to Inland Bank Plc from 1994 to 2001, before securing an appointment with the Gombe State Water Corporation and finally joined the services of Federal College of Horticulture as a Bursar, the position he held before his demise.
Modibbo in his life time was very friendly. He was a passionate and a loving gentleman that helped the less privileged in the Society.
Left to mourn him are beautiful wife, Hajiya Altine Umar Modibbo, children, siblings, friends, associates and the entire members of Staff of the College.
Until his death, he held a PhD in Public Sector Management.
