Gombe Deputy Gov urges youth to embrace sports as means of earning livelihood,preaching peace, others
The Gombe State Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, has urged for an embrace in sporting activities as a means of earning livelihood in view of the looming unemployment that has characterized the nation.
The Deputy Governor gave the indication when he represented Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya at the Grand Finale of National Under 20, Football Competition organized by the Federation of Youth Soccer Clubs (FEYSOC) at Pantami Township Stadium, Gombe.
The Deputy Governor also called on the youth to utilize their sporting talents in promoting the peace and unity of Nigeria especially at this critical period of the nations history when we need the virtues more dearly for our coexistence.

He said, sports should also be embraced to enhance bodily fitness for healthy lifestyle towards contributing their quota in positive development of the society.
The Deputy Governor assured of their administration’s commitment to providing conducive atmosphere for sports activities and development so as to reap the benefits derivable.
He appreciated the organizers of the football tournament, especially the Patron of the Federation of Youth Soccer Clubs, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau for encouraging the youths through developing their sporting potentials for overall development of the society.
He congratulated the participants for exhibiting spirit of sportsmanship, urging the winners to do more and the losers to redouble their efforts for them to succeed in the future and other editions.

In his remarks, the Patron of FEYSOC, Former Governor if Kano State, and Former Minister of Education, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau appreciated the Governor and Deputy Governor of Gombe Sate and all those who contributed in making the tournament a great success.
He called on the youths to continue to take advantage of the opportunity given to them in harnessing their sporting, and other potentials for them to contribute in building their future and Nigeria.
The Gombe State Chairman Sports Commission, Alh. Adamu Hamza Soye, explained that 28 clubs across across Nigeria including Gombe State participated in the tournament.
He appreciated the Patron of the Federation of Youth Soccer Clubs, the Governor and Deputy Governor of Gombe State for supporting the football tournament.
The Grand Finale featured Khalid Boys Academy Kano state verses Alfa Academy, Jigawa state where Khalid Boys Academy, Kano emerged first beating their opponents, the Alfa Academy football club Jigawa, by 2-1.
The winners of the tournament are to visit Dubai on excursion while the second position are to visit Togo, and the third to visit Ghana.
Highlight of the occasion include presentation of medals and trophies to dignitaries and winners of the tournament.
