Gombe to train 500 volunteers for At Risk Children Project
No fewer than 500 volunteers would be trained under the At Risk children project in Gombe, towards impacting the lives of out of school children.
The project would help tackle the menace of out of school children in the state, essentially it is expected that the project would help government win the war against societal challenges.
Disclosing this in a resolution on Friday, wife of Gombe State Governor, Asma’u Yahaya, who presides over the At Risk Children Project Advisory committee in preparation for the commencement of the induction training of the First batch of 500 ARC -P Gombe volunteers, highlighted the benefits of the volunteers.
According to the wife of the governor, the project Advisory Committee should finalize preparations for the commencement of the induction training of the 1st batch of the ARC-P Gombe 500 volunteers.
Yahaya said, “The volunteers should to be hardworking and diligently committed towards obtaining the knowledge that will in turn, impact positively on the lives of the poor and vulnerable.
“That PAC has resolved to adopt the nation’s policy of the sharing ratio of social investment Programme.
“That it has adopted the proposed centers of Kaltungo, NITDA office Gombe and Kwami teachers training centre,with the plan to accommodate 200,100&200 respectively, for the volunteers training.

On his part, ARC- P lead, who is also the Special Adviser to the governor on Human Capital Development, Barr. Sani Haruna, while presenting report of midterm activities explained the strategies used in executing them.
He assured the governor’s wife of his confidence in the project implementation, and his team’s plan in delivering on the mandate given to them.
Also, Director General, women and mobilization ARC-P , Zainab Alman, lauded the governor and his wife for finding her worthy of the position, promising to work harmoniously as a team in order to make a great impact on the lives of the less privileged in the
state.
