After Punch Story Mariyo community Primary school gets Govt’s instructional materials

Gombe State Government has donated instructional materials to Mariyo community Primary school in Akko local government area.
Recall that The PUNCH had published pictures adapted from TrackaNG where children where spotted learning in an unfriendly environment.

Subsequently, after the viral pictures the Ministry of Education led by commissioner went in search of the school where it was confirmed as true with a population of about 250 students.
However, government said the school was based on community effort, noting that alot was been done to uplift the standard of the school.
Commissioner for Education Dauda Batari assured the communities of Government readiness to assist their wards pursue education with ease.

According to a statement issued by the Information Officer Ministry of Education Saidu Malala, Batari said education has great benefits to the development of people.
Represented by the Director school services, Ahmed Madugu, the commissioner enjoined the community to utilize the materials for maximum out put.

Batari said, “I wish to emphasize that government will in near future make other interventions to the community to enable every member feel a sense of belonging in the society.”
While presenting the materials the commissioner urged the students to give their best towards attaining excellence.
“I want to call on the pupils of the school to put in their best in their quest to aquire education for the benefit of the community,” the commissioner said.
Responding on behalf of the community, Village Head Adamu Jauro, lauded the state government for considering the area in the scheme of things, adding that the community would extend their support to the government at all times.
He described the area as backward in terms of provision of social amenities,”I have confidence that with the commitment of the present administration the area is hopeful of benefitting from the dividends of democracy,” he said.
Items donated include cartons of exercise books, white chalk and dusters.
