Gombe earmarks N154.6b for 2022 fiscal year
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya has earmarked One Hundred and Fifty-Four Billion, Six Hundred and Ten Million, Six Hundred and Fourteen Thousand Naira (N154,610,614,000.00), for 2022 financial fiscal year.

The Budget is tagged Consolidation, according to the governor it would help the current administration focus on her gains and successes.
Presenting the document to the house of assembly members, stakeholders on Thursday, the governor stated that his administration is committed to achieving people oriented projects.
Recall that for 2021 fiscal year the state budgeted the total sum of One Hundred and Twenty Billion, Six Hundred and Twenty-Four Million, Seventy-Six Thousand, Six Hundred and Twenty-Eight Naira (N120,624,076,628.00) which was later revised to One Hundred and Twenty Billion, Six Hundred and Sixty-Three Million, Eight Hundred and Fifty-Six Thousand, Six Hundred and Thirty-Six Naira (N120,663,856,636.00) reflecting a slight increase of 0.23%.
He said, “It is in this regards that for the 2022 fiscal year, the sum of One Hundred and Fifty-Four Billion, Six Hundred and Ten Million, Six Hundred and Fourteen Thousand Naira (N154,610,614,000.00) is proposed to be expended.
“The budget is made up of Sixty-Nine Billion, One Hundred and Seventeen Million, Two Hundred and Fourteen Thousand Naira (N69,117,214,000.00) for recurrent expenditure representing 44.7% of the total budget, and Eighty-Five Billion, Four Hundred and Ninety-Three Million, Four Hundred Thousand Naira (N85,493,400,000.00) for capital expenditure which represents 55.3% of the budget sum.
“This is envisaged to be financed by an estimated recurrent revenue of Seventy-Three Billion, Six Hundred and Twenty-Six Million, Seven Hundred and Eighty-Nine Thousand Naira (N73,626,789,000.00) and capital receipts of Seventy-Nine Billion, Eight Hundred and Sixty-Five Million Naira (N79,865,000,000.00) and an estimated closing balance of Four Billion, Eight Hundred and Eighty-One Million, One Hundred and Seventy-Five Thousand Naira (N4,881,175,000.00).”
Yahaya noted that the performance of the 2022 budget is at 68.5 percent, “This represents 59.6% of the capital budget. The overall budget performance as at 30th September, 2021 was 68.5%,” the governor added.
On his part, Speaker, Abubakar Luggerewo noted that the house would accord the budget passage expedited action.
He lauded the government for the support so far to the assembly, stressing that same would be reciprocated.
Luggerewo said, “By this you have fulfilled your mandate in line with the principle of separation of power. The Budget will receive expeditious scrutiny, this house is proud to be associated with you.”
Commenting further in a chat with journalists, Luggerewo added, “This budget cuts across all the sectors, we are going to do some adjustments where necessary to get ensure this budget meets the whole yearning of the people. We will carry out proper oversight.”
