Gombe Gov’s decision to coronate Danladi as Mai Tangle against rule of law – lawyer
A legal practitioner Barr. Yakubu Bawa on Tuesday, described the alleged coronation of Malam Danladi Maiyamba as the 16th Mai Tangle, as against the rule of law.
Bawa who is a lawyer to Incorporated Trustees of Tangale Development Association, stated this in an interview with our correspondent on Wednesday.
He queried the decision of the governor Muhammadu Yahaya to coronate the embattled traditional despite the court existing case.
Recall that following the demise of Maisheru, the 15th Mai Tangle, election leading to the occupation of the throne presented two top candidates; with Danladi Maiyamba, losing by three votes to Dr. Musa Maiyamba who polled five.
However, due to some persons alleged believe that Maiyamba was unduly favoured by the government, this led to protests, destructions before the governor through commissioner for Local Government Affairs Jalo Waziri eventually announced him as the substantive traditional ruler.
According to Bawa, the governor’s decision is tantamount to flagrant disregard of court processes, adding that it has serious penalty.
He said, “Our call is for the governor to restrain and respect the rule of law. The law provides that a matter is in court and the motion is served to a particular party who is also involved, the law expects the other party not to do that act.
“Before they started making preparations we have served them the motion restricting them until the final determination of the matter. One thing with chieftaincy matter even when he has picked Maishanu as Mai Tangle, the position of the law remains that until there is coronation or handover of staff of office.”
Commenting further on the alleged decision of government to proceed with the coronation of the embattled traditional ruler, Bawa stressed that governor Muhammadu Yahaya intends to put the court in a state of helplessness.
“We heard he is planning to do the coronation we as legal team, we are looking at the next step of action to take. The governor has sworn to respect the rule of law but what he is doing now is like he is restricting the court.
“What the governor is going to do is to put the court in a state of helplessness. The court ought to be allowed adjudication on the matter. The court really frowns at that, whatever it is by the time we take it up the court will be very angry about that,” Bawa added

The action of the governor is unjustified and that will not portraits him as a good leader, let the court restraints him from causing havocs to Tangle Maidom, justice beget peace,we condemned such act and regards such as tyranny, let history remember you food master governor.
The govnr who is proving to be above the law of the federation,he may dare not to even think of doing that, because the law has eyes every where if he can not listen here he can definitely listen some where above his power, Animal in the ZOO.
