The Gombe State Executive Council meeting, presided over by Governor Muhammadu Yahaya on Monday, ratified and approved the draft of 2022 budget proposal for onwards presentation to the state house of assembly.
Recall that governor had earlier held a town hall meeting with traditional rulers, community leaders, trade unions, faith-based and non governmental organisations.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Julius Ishaya told journalists shortly after the 20th State Executive Council Meeting held at the Council Chamber of the Government House that all is now set for Governor Inuwa Yahaya to to lay the budget before the state Assembly.

Ishaya said, “Today, council considered the proposed budget for 2022 fiscal year, raised observations, made corrections and gave approval for onward presentation to the State House Assembly for its legislative action.
The 2022 budget proposal which, according to the information commissioner, represents genuine interest of the people, is expected to be presented by Yahaya to the Gombe State House of Assembly on Thursday, 11th November, 2021.
The Commissioner also disclosed that council approved the sum of seven hundred and seventy one million, eight hundred and forty six thousand, twenty seven Naira (N771, 846, 027) additional fund for the upgrade of Kwanan Rugaji-Kaceciya-Jagabari-Kuka Bakwai-Almakashi Road in Funakaye LGA.
According to him, that the approval followed the adoption of a memo forwarded by the Commissioner of Works and Transportation, Abubakar Bappah to the council on the need for additional works on the project, to make it more durable to stand the test of time.
He said, “Originally, it was supposed to be a culvert, but after further investigations it was discovered that the culvert will not serve the purpose, and so there is a need for a bridge.”
“With the new approval of the additional fund, the project now stood at two billion, eight hundred and thirty nine million, seven hundred thousand, eight hundred and nine Naira (N 2, 839, 700, 809).”
The project is jointly funded by Funakaye Local Government and Gombe State Government under Gombe State Joint Project Development Agency.
