Gombe gov new Sarkin Yakin, begins compensation of N381m to beneficiaries
Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya has been conferred with Sarkin Yakin of Kagarawal by the Village Head Usman Bello, for his efforts in ensuring development to the people of the area.
Yahaya was told this on Sunday, when he took a tour across the metropolis, following his indication to pay the sum of N381 million as compensation to no fewer than 309 beneficiaries
The 309 households are those affected from proposed road network, which is part of the legacy construction work of the current administration tagged Network eleven hundred; 11 km road construction across the 11 local government areas of the state.
He revealed that the payment of compensation to beneficiaries was aimed at ensuring government commitment to carry everyone alone, adding that construction would not commence until the payment had been completed.

He said, “The road network include; Kagarawal, Mallam inna, and Anguwan uku and over 309 households are affected.”
According to Yahaya, aside to improving the quality of road with the area, he would ensure other amenities are provided
“I assure you of restoring solar lights within the streets after completion of the project,” he stressed.
Yahaya noted that the road construction would commence upon the completion of the payment of compensation to every individual whose property is affected by the infrastructural development.
He explained that government also extended it’s road network at Bolari in Gombe local government area.
The governor who urged the people to show more support to his administration, said time has come for them to know who has impacted them most.
“We will continue to focus attention on areas that are densely populated within the state capital and environs so as to open them up and give the people a sense of belonging,” the governor assured.
Also speaking, Commissioner of works Engr. Abubakar Bappah said payment would be made in accordance with the guidelines based on the type and the overall finishing of each property.
He said the policy thrust of the current administration in providing road infrastructure was predicated on the importance of road network to the social and economic development of the people.
However, mesmerized by the Governor’s efforts in granting the road construction, the Village Head of Kagarawal, conferred on the Governor the traditional title of “Sarkin Yakin Kagarawal”, while the District Head of Bolari honoured the Governor with the title of “Ma’Dawakin Bolari”.
