274 Gombe batch B stream II Corpers bow out
No fewer than 274 batch B stream II Corps members on Thursday, passed out in Gombe State in a low-key ceremony held across the 11 Local Government Areas.
Addressing Corps members in Yamaltu Deba, Billiri and Kaltungo Local Government Areas, Gombe State Coordinator Ada Imoni commended them for exhibiting high level of discipline, patriotism and selfless service in the course of the service year.
Imoni, noted that the essence of the service year was to make positive impact in the various host communities, adding that special emphasis would be on those who served in the rural areas.
She said, “You have served your fatherland selflessly. I am proud of your achievement. Everyone you see has a story to tell .
“I believe you will go back home with stories about your host communities and how well you served your fatherland. You accepted your posting in good faith and served wholeheartedly.
“My Dear Children, you came ,saw and conquered. You have made us all proud.”
She also commended those who took time to initiate and execute viable projects in their host Communities, calling on other serving corps members to tow their path.
” On behalf of the Director General of the NYSC Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim and Government of Gombe State, I congratulate you on a successful Service year ,as we pray for a better tomorrow for you,” she added.
The State Coordinator urged them to uphold the ideals of the NYSC and remember that they would always be ambassadors of the scheme wherever they found themselves.
She added, “The NYSC is for National unity and integration, please shun any act that would bring disunity or soil the good name of your families. The next phase of your life will be full of testimonies by God’s grace.”
