NYSC lauds Army, Police, NDLEA, others, as 2021 orientation course ends in Gombe
National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has lauded the efforts of some collaborative agencies, following the successful closing of batch c stream II orientation course in Gombe.
According to the State Coordinator, Ada Imoni the course would not have become remarkable without their efforts in instilling discipline, orderliness and ensuring wellbeing of corps members in the last three weeks activities lasted.
Imoni made this disclosure on Tuesday, in her address signalling the end of the course which had 1,582 corps members in attendance with 622 males and 960 females.
While hailing their efforts since the past camping duration in 2021, the State Coordinator urged them to reciprocate the gesture in the coming year 2022.
She said, “I cannot conclude this speech without appreciating our able collaborating Agencies; The Army, the Nigeria Police Force, Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Nigeria Red Cross Society, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, The State Security Service, Fire Service Directorate and my competent NYSC Staff. We made it happen in 2021, let’s do it again in 2022 by God’s grace.”
The state coordinator noted that posting to places of primary assignment goes in consonance with commitment in the community development services, noting that none should be neglected to suffer.
According to her, “My dear children, the primary assignment and the Community Development Service go simultaneously. I therefore call on you to mingle well with members of your host Communities, initiate viable projects according to their felt needs, mobilise resources and execute the projects.
“While most Corps members ask what the Community has to offer, I charge you to go out there with the mind set to think of ways to write your names in the annals of history as you leave lasting legacies to be remembered by.
Commending the effort of the medical personnel on and off camp to the wellbeing of corps members, Imoni urged the batch c stream II corps to adjust to the new normal, Covid-19 by adjusting to safety measures.
“I must commend the robust collaboration of Consultants from the Federal Ministry of health, the State Health Team and the Primary Health Care Development Agency for working with us to man our clinic, carry out Covid 19 Rapid Diagnostic Test and vaccination of camp participants throughout the year 2021.
“While we adjust to the new normal, we pray the virus is surmounted in 2022. accept the assurances of the Director-General’s esteemed regards as you continue to support the scheme to sustain the achievement of its mandate.”
