Esteban Obiang’s second half super strike ended the hilarious record kept by Algeria, finishing with just two matches short of Italy’s record of 37 unbeaten matches on the international stage.
The Reigning Africa Cup of Nations champions of 2019 Edition Algeria, are faced with an early group stage exit from this year’s edition after a shocking 1-0 defeat to Equatorial Guinea.
Equatorial Guinea was dominated in the match with just a little chance but battled gamely with every fitness in their possession and took a rare opportunity when Josette Miranda flicked a corner across the face of the Algerian goal and defender Obiang struck the ball home at the back post.
The greatest result in the history of Equatorial Guinean football came to lime light, courtesy of Esteban Obiang’s second-half strike, which produced the only goal of the match for Equatorial Guinea, to the fall of the Algerian National Team.

Though two goals were ruled out for Algeria, which would have kept the team in shape but the stubborn Equatorial Guinea side, were not willing to drop a point.
The only remedy for Algeria to qualify for round of 16 is to beat Ivory Coast in their final group match on Thursday, else they will face an early exit from the tournament.

Ivory Coast is first with 4 Points, Equatorial Guinea is second with 3 Points, Sierra Leone with 2 Points and Algeria with a point.
