Goje’s Youth Leader, Habu Muazu expresses interest in Gombe Central seat
Abubakar Mua’zu, former youth leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while Danjuma Goje now Senator representing Gombe central was Governor has expressed interest for the position.
Mua’zu, was a former ally of the former governor, and a staunch supporter of Goje, until recently when he transferred his loyalty to the State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya.
He was one of the rallying points, during the face-off between the governor, and his former political leader, Mua’zu, hails from Kashere emirate in Akko Local Government Area, Gombe central senatorial district, same as his erstwhile boss.
Declaring his aspiration known on Sunday, for the red chamber, Mua’zu, announced that he would provide positive representation, adding that he would continue from where others ended their mission.
He said, “I’m in the race to bring positive development and to continue from where former representatives stopped.”
He revealed that he has the backing of the governor, adding that “Goje and senator Umar should give way for the younger generation.”
Earlier an interview with the PERISCOPE NIGERIA, Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Moses Kyari, while debunking insinuations on new congresses as part of resolutions of the Buni, Abdullahi reconciliation committee, said part of the resolution was to allow Goje, recontest his seat.
He said, “I want to make it categorically clear that there was no such thing as possible repeat of Congresses in Gombe as attested to by spokesman of the party chairman and governor of Yobe State.
“As a fallout of the reconciliation in Abuja, Senator Goje, did not give any condition for the reconciliation rather it was the governor that gave condition that Goje, should not give any condition and it was agreed. In the magnanimity of the excellency the governor, you are free, you are a party member you are free if you need to recontest your office you are free to and the committee encouraged the governor that if Goje goes to the election and wins don’t interfere, let him be, and the governor as a gentleman agreed.”
