Gombe Govt to address academic challenges of 59 students of FCT Gombe, ATBU
Following complaints by students of set 2016 of the Federal College of Education Gombe, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa affiliated degree programme, Gombe State Government has promised to intervene in order to find a lasting solution to the issue of JAMB regularisation which hindered them from graduating.
Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi who received the students in his office on Monday, said “the Government of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa is sensitive to the plight of its citizens, though a federal government institution but as citizens of Gombe State we will do everything possible to see that all the technicalities are sorted out for you to graduate.”
Njodi who expressed concern about the situation promised to meet with relevant authorities with a view to addressing the issue.

Speaking earlier, leader of the affected students Sani Musa Abubakar said they were at the Government House to register their complaint believing that the Inuwa Yahaya’s led administration would give them a listening ear and equally intervene in their predicament.
He said they had undergone and completed their studies, and given statement of result but were not allowed to go for a mandatory National Youth Service NYSC or obtain certificate of exemption which is the prerequisite of being a graduate, thereby appealing to the State Government to come to their aid.
Abubakar thanked the State Government for the warm reception and also lauded the Governor’s policies and programmes which he said were aimed at transforming the State into a model.
