Gombe prepares for 1,500 Prospective Corps Members
No fewer than 1,500 Batch A stream I Prospective Corps Members (PCMs), are expected to begin the compulsory three-week orientation course in Amada, Gombe State.
According to a press statement obtained on Monday from the Head Public Relations Unit Dakama Iliya, she said the prospective corps members were expected from 23rd February to Tuesday 15th March, 2022.
She revealed that no one would be allowed into the orientation camp without first submitting to screening and testing at the gate.
The statement explained that registration would take off from Wednesday 23rd to Sunday 27th February,2022, with midnight of Sunday 27th as cut off, while Tuesday 1st March is scheduled for swearing-in and Tuesday 15th March as closing ceremony.
Iliya partly said, “Management of the National Youth Service Corps has approved the conduct of the 2022 Batch A Stream I Orientation Course to hold from Wednesday 23rd February through Tuesday 15th March ,2022 in the 36 States and FCT.
“About 1500 Prospective Corps members are expected to report at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada, Gombe State, on assigned dates for ease of compliance to the Covid-19 safety protocols.
“All extant procedures for the registration of prospective Corps members with strict observance of physical distancing still stand. While we adjust to the new normal, Covid-19 Rapid Diagnostic Testing of Camp participants before entry into Camp is also still in place .No one will be allowed into the Camp without passing through the Covid-19 screening and testing at the camp gate.”
While praying for a hitch-free Orientation Course, she solicited the unflinching cooperation and support, “of our Stakeholders in according prospective Corps members warm reception on arrival,” the statement added.
