Gombe SSG expresses worry over current events in Kaltungo
Worried by the socio-economic backwardness of erstwhile prosperous Kaltungo Chiefdom, the Secretary to the Gombe State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi has called for a rethink towards harnessing the potentials of the area for economic development.
Njodi who expressed concern on recent development when he played host to the executive members of Kaltungo People Progressive Foundation (KPPF) in his office, where he charged them to remain resolute in their commitment to revitalise the glorious past of the Chiefdom.

The SSG recalled with nostalgia the good days of Kaltungo when unity was the pre-occupation of every leader reminding the Kaltungo People Progressive Foundation of his unalloyed support.
The Secretary to the State Government further advised them to remain steadfast as every effort to correct the ills of society was always faced with resistance from bad elements, adding that their objective of attracting productive ventures, fight the sales and consumption of illicit drugs were in line with Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s commitment to advancing the youth.
Njodi also expressed joy that the elders have initiative against moral decadence, poverty, illiteracy and economic backwardness, calling on all well meaning sons and daughters of the Chiefdom to join the noble crusade.
The state scribe also stressed the need for the political and community elites to close ranks, towards putting Kaltungo first before any parochial interest debunking rumour of his political ambition to contest any political office saying it is premature for such declaration, adding that his focus would be successful delivery of Inuwa Yahaya’s mandate to the people.
Speaking earlier, Chairman of Kaltungo People Progressive Foundation, Reverend Luka Zakka said the idea of the foundation was conceived in 2019 as a none Governmental organisation with the mandate of addressing socio- economic challenges confronting the area.
Zakka, said the foundation is to among others; re – define the concept of community development to all inclusive of moral re-orientation of youth, attracting scholarship to indigent intelligent students, small scale business entrepreneurship and indeed help in shaping a better future for the Chiefdom.
In their separate contributions, the legal Adviser, Barr. Wantam, Secretary Zakari Mohammed, Ngalbang Maidawa, Samuel Danladi and Maina Gundali all reiterated their mission of working towards a peaceful and better future for the Chiefdom and appealed to the SSG to reach out to prominent sons and daughters of the Chiefdom to support their noble objectives.
They also appreciated Governor Yahaya for awarding the construction of Gundali road which has remained a long dream of the surrounding villages among many other developmental projects executed by the Inuwa’s led administration.
