Njodi meets Gombe Councillors Forum
The Secretary to the State Government Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi has charged the State Councillors Forum to intensify interfacing with their constituents with a view to identifying agitations and genuine complaints for prompt action.
Njodi who gave the charge when he received in audience Chairman and Executive members of the councillors Forum at the Government House Gombe, also reminded them of their strategic roles in governance and party politics being the closest to the electorate.
The SSG said, publicising government programmes and development activities should not be left to the state government but rather all hands must be on deck in enlightening the people on Government’s activities.
He explained that it was the responsibility of every ward councillor to take stock of campaign promise of Governor Inuwa Yahaya in his ward and ascertain the level of fulfillment and report where additional public needs arises.
While assuring the Forum of government support, Njodi also assured of liasing with the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to find ways of enhancing their activities.
In their remarks, representatives of the three Senatorial District in the Forum, Shehu Hussaini Hashidu (North) Samaila Babayo (South), Bashir Sani (Central) and Magret Jerry women representative all appreciated Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yayaha for creating the political atmosphere for their emergence as councillors in last local council polls and registered their unflinching support to the second term bid of the governor in 2023.

Earlier, Chairman of the Forum Yaya Yusuf said they were at the government house to introduce the forum, its mission and activities.
Yusuf added that they are solidly standing by Inuwa Yahaya administration’s considering how much it has done for the people within scarce resources.
