Gombe court adjourns ruling on Lunguda, Waja crisis
Justice Zainab Rasheed of Gombe State High Court Nine Tudun wada, on Monday adjourned hearing on the Waja eight to 24th May 2022.
This would enable the Judge determine the continuation, and eventual ruling on the case brought before her by the state government against Isah Tongo and seven others from Waja.
Tongo and the seven other youths were arrested following the Nyuwar Lungunga crisis of April 2021 and the case was first heard on the 9th March 2022.
Our correspondent recalls that over 20 persons were reportedly killed with property and food items valued in millions destroyed during the attack.
Justice Rasheed had cited absence of witnesses, as reason behind the adjournment to next month.
Earlier, Counter application for bail was filed by the prosecution Barr. Mohammed Jungudu acting Director of Public Prosecution, due to the absence of the prosecution counsel in the case.
