Basic Education: NIPSS officials hail Gombe Gov’s intervention
The team lead of the Executive Course 44 of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies Kuru, Dr Emmanuel Sambo Mamman, has commended the foresight and effort of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya in promoting basic education.

Mamman made the commendation on Tuesday, when he led his team to inspect the Alabura primary and junior secondary school under construction at Kumbi-kumbiya quarters in Gombe metropolis.
He noted that the project testifies to the government’s desire to boost enrollment and more so bring learning to the door steps of the people.
He encouraged the Governor to also consider recruiting and equipping teachers that would work earnestly to drive the vision of the administration in the development of education in the State.
Briefing the team earlier on the government’s conception of the school, the Chairman State Universal Basic Education Board, Mr Babaji Babadidi explained that the project was designed to serve three main objectives that include providing the area the opportunity to comfortably assess quality education, decongest the over crowded Hassan central primary school and to help in mopping up a great number of out of school children.
Babadidi further disclosed that the project which was awarded at the cost of 32 million is being co-founded with 50 percent support by the Universal Basic Education Commission.
The team had earlier visited and interacted with the Chairman, Council and Senior Management of staff of Nafada Local Government where they challenged them to explore more revenue generating avenues rather than depending solely on Federal allocation for its operations.
Chairman Nafada Local Government,Musa Abubakar who briefed the visiting NIPSS participants on the challenges and limitations of the Council however commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for granting them administrative and financial autonomy.
The Chairman later led them to inspect a bridge along Biri road jointly constructed by Nafada,Funakaye and Dukku local governments in partnership with the State Government.
The team also inspected the remodeling of the General Hospital Bajoga and the Gombe Mega Park.
