Empowerment of over 500 women by the wife of Gombe State Governor, Hajiya Inuwa Yahaya

As part of continued empowerment programmes over 500 Gombe women has benefited from the Capacity Building/Empowerment programmes from the wife of Gombe State Governor, Hajiya Asamau Inuwa Yahaya.
The empowerment was declared open by the Gombe State First at a two-day FCMB Sheventures & Gombe State Women in Business Conference, in conjunction with the office of Lady in Gombe.
Again over thousands of women, Youths and Vulnerable have benefited from the empowerment programmes of the wife of Governor of Gombe State which ranges from cash, skills acquisition, training , distribution of assort kits, sewing machines, hair dressing items, households and conventional materials and food items now more than 500 female entrepreneurs and upcoming Small and medium enterprise women businesses in Gombe State, will benefit from the Capacity Building and Empowerment programmes, organized by the office of the First Lady of Gombe state, in collaboration with FCMB SheVentures.
In the statement by the media aide of the wife of Governor, Bintu Aliyu Sunmonu
said that Dr. Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya, who was represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Na’omi J. J . Awak commended the Gombe women for their resourcefulness, commitment & resilience in tackling the economic challenges.

The wife of the Governor explained that women have contributed greatly in complementing the efforts of the Government under the leadership of her husband in issues that engulfed the women-folk, through such empowerment programs to creating wealth and become self sufficient.
Hajiya Inuwa Yahaya, therefore urged the women that have met the requirements of accessing the free interest/collateral loan, to use it wisely in enhancing or starting their SMEs by ensuring that high quality standard production for competitiveness and profitability are maintained in order to support their families , improve their socio-economics status and above all, pay back the loan as and when due, so that other women can benefit too.
In her speech, representative of the Wife of Governor,Mrs, Na’omi Awak, showered encomiums on Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for creating an enabling environment for peace and development to strive.
She further said all these achievements were made possible through the complementary efforts of his wife, Dr. Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya,for standing firm in her quest to support women and the less privileged in the state.
“To ensure that they realized their full potentials, so as to live a life of dignity.”
“What is left for us now as women is to give our full support for Governor lnuwa Yahaya’s return as Gombe State Governor come 2023 polls for continuity in the provision of dividends of democracy to his people”, Mrs Naomi Awak said.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the program at the first lady’s office and the Chairman of Board of Trustees, Jewel Care Foundation, Alhaji Hamisu Saulawa congratulated the collaborating partners and the prospective beneficiaries for witnessing another milestone in the history of women entrepreneurship development, assured FCMB management of his faith in Gombe women for their integrity and loyalty , thereby guaranteeing maximum utilization and safe return of their monies.
As development partner,the FCMB Regional Head Abuja & North , Mr. Abdullahi Mainasara, thanked Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for confiding in their bank, promising a continued mutually beneficial relationship, as Gombe State continues to clinch not only the nation’s best state on ease of doing business but in the African continent at large.
In their goodwill messages, from the Special Guest at the Occasion, who is the Special adviser to the Governor on Human Capital Development,Barr. Sani Ahmed Haruna, Commissioners of Finance , Gambo Magaji, Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Aishatu Maigari, Agriculture Muhammed Magaji Gettado, as well as that of Commerce,trade and industry, Nasiru Aliyu, all supported these gigantic initiatives of the First Lady, Dr. Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya, to better the lot of women in their chosen businesses,urging the bank to conclude all necessary arrangements, so as to make the funds available,especially to those businesses that are time bound such as farming while the theme is “Building a resilient and scalable business in a challenged economy “ and “How to make your business bankable”.
