How Siyako, Ex Fidelity Director Won PDP Gombe South Primary
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Gombe South on Monday elected a former director of Fidelity Bank, Anthony Siyako, as its senatorial candidate for the 2023 election.
Announcing the result, the returning officer Umar Ardo said Siyako, polled the highest votes scoring 59 to beat his closest rival Binta Bello, former deputy minority whip in the Federal House of Representatives who polled 57 votes.
The Philanthropist cum serial entrepreneur, lauded his supporters for finding him worthy to represent them in the 2023 senatorial district election in Gombe South.
He promised them quality and purposeful representation in order to turn the fortunes of the people around.
Our correspondent reports that that the primary election was held in Billiri local government area of the state.
No fewer than 10 other aspirants contested for the seat under the party, all of who were present at the polling centre.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA gathered that 124 delegates out of the 125 voted in the election.
Recall that Gombe South consists of Billiri, Kaltungo, Balanga and Shongom local government areas
