TANGALE-WAJA (GOMBE SOUTH) STUDENTS ASSOCIATION (A.K.A TAWASA) NATIONAL PRESIDENT’S PRESS RELEASE ON ACADEMIC STATE UNION OF UNIVERSITIES (ASUU) AND ACADEMIC STAFF UNION OF POLYTECHNICS (ASUP) STRIKE
It’s a privilege to address you and to express my gratitude to almighty God: the Alpha and Omega whom in his infinite mercy has made it possible to talk on the contemporary issues bordering the entire students in Gombe south, Gombe state and Nigeria at large.
Firstly, industrial strike action: I humbly call the attention of federal government, ASUU, ASUP, top politicians, traditional rulers, and religions leaders to put all hands on desk to come up with lasting solution that would allow the students to go back to school.
I want to urge my fellow students not to be used by politicians as thugs, so that they won’t regret their actions. Nevertheless, utilise the opportunity you have to be creative and productive.
Secondly, I urge the Gombe south all political parties’ leaders to select credible candidates in the forth-coming primary elections that would have youth at heart and will support education in due course. And I’m assuring you that Gombe South Students would support such candidate appropriately.
Thirdly, TAWASA leadership is appreciating the efforts of all individuals that support our students in one way with another and we expect more from our citizens.
Finally, my speech would not be meaningful if i fail to eulogise and appreciate the concerted effort of TAWASA stakeholders , EXCOs and all National tribal Associations which maximally supported us towards this journey may God reward you richly. Thank you for your usual cooperation.
