Gombe Govt donates relief materials to Adamawa IDPs in Bambam, Kaltungo towns
Gombe State Government under the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has donated relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), taking refuge in Bambam and Kaltungo towns as a result of the recent crisis in Boshikiri and Lafiya areas Adamawa State.
The relief materials presented to the IDPs include; 40 bags of rice, 5 bags of sugar 10 cartons of vegetable oil and 500 pieces of blankets.
Other items are; 300 mats 200 pieces of mosquito net and assorted drugs.
The Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency SEMA Abdullahi Haruna had while presenting the items to the IDPs in Bambam and Kaltungo explained that Governor Yahaya was deeply concerned by their condition hence the directive for the relief materials to be donated to them.
The Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency SEMA pointed out that the relief materials were not meant to compensate the IDPs but to cushion the effect of their current condition pending the return of normalcy to their domain.

He appealed to the representatives of the IDPs, the police and the traditional institution in both Bambam and Kaltungo to ensure justice equity and fairness in the distribution of relief materials to the IDPs.

Haruna said SEMA would not condone any diversion of the materials provided for the Adamawa State IDPs taking refuge in Bambam and Kaltungo towns.
The SEMA Executive Secretary used the occasion to thank Dadiya Chiefdom for playing a comforting role towards hosting the Internally Displaced Persons in their area.
Responding to the gesture the Folo Dadiya Abdulkadir Abubakar Galadima III expressed gratitude to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for promptly attending to the plight of the Adamawa State IDPs.
He however called on the Gombe State Emergency Management Agency SEMA to interface with their Adamawa State counterpart so that the burden of catering for the welfare of the IDPs would not be left to the Gombe State Government and their various host communities.
