Gombe PFN honours Deputy Governor, Anglican Primate Henry Ndukuba
The Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria/ Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, a block of Christian Association of Nigeria, Gombe Chapter has honoured the Gombe State Deputy Governor, Manassah Daniel Jatau, with an award of meritorious service in recognition of his contributions and support to the Church and humanity.
The Chairman of the CPFN/PFN, Christian Association of Nigeria, Gombe Chapter, Rev. Thomas Ejiniyi said the Deputy Governor is a man of integrity who put in his best to ensure the growth of the Church, and enhancing the development of humanity through demonstrating high sense of commitment and very supportive to the Governor for good of the the people of Gombe State.
Jatau received his award alongside the Anglican Primate of Nigeria, Bishop Henry Ndukuba, one time CAN Chairman, and immediate past Bishop of Gombe Diocese at the Living Faith Church, behind Timber Market, Gombe.
Speaking shortly after the presentation, Manassah Daniel Jatau appreciated the honour and recognition by the Christian body, saying the award would motivate him to contribute more to humanity.
He stated that the Governor and the entire administration of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya acknowledges the role of religion and prayers of the faithfuls in peaceful co-existence and overall development of the society.
He said, ” Governor Inuwa Yahaya always sends his goodwill and greetings whenever I informed him of attending a Church programme. This is because he knows that Prayer is very important, without which there will be no meaningful achievement in the society.”
Jatau stressed the need for christians to live according to christian virtues of unity, peace and love for all irrespective of any form of difference.
He said, “the enemies of christians are within, in the form of disunity and division which he said is more dangerous causing a lot of cracks in the Church’s oneness and and unity.”
The Deputy Governor called on the newly inaugurated EXCO to see their election as a burden which must be shouldered with the highest sense of responsibility.
He urged the entire Church to continue to pray for the the state and the country in the midst of the numerous challenges facing the country so that God would bring an end to the maladies.
In his remarks the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Father Joseph Alphonsus Shinga congratulated the newly inaugurated Executive Council of the CPFN/PFN, Gombe Chapter and appreciated the Deputy Governor as well as all those who added colour to the occasion.
Bishop Charles Okonkwo who delivered the sermon spoke on the theme” the power of unification” took his text from Genesis Chapter eleven verses one to five.
He admonished the congregation to imbibe the spirit of unity irrespective of denominational differences for the Church to fulfill the desires of Jesus,” that they may be one”.
Highlight of the occasion include songs of praises from subgroups and decoration of the new Executives.
