NSCDC parades railway vandals, kidnapper in Gombe
No fewer than three persons have been arrested by Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe State command for vandalising property of the Nigerian Railway Corporation with one other said to be a serial kidnapper in the state.
Speaking on Tuesday during a media briefing at the command, Commandant Waziri Goni estimated the items which include railway slippers, nut and bolt in millions.

According to him, his men tracked the vandals based on intelligence, adding that the community support aided his corps’ due diligence.
He said, “The three are vandals and they have been vandalising the railway line from Gombe to Bauchi and from Bauchi to Nafada, these are the areas they have been vandalising at night between one o’clock even in day time.
“We got intelligence report on their activities, we gave our numbers for the community to contact us Incase they have anyone who intends to sell railway slippers.”
He revealed that investigation was ongoing towards unraveling their buyers, and other syndicates to the heinous crime.
Also, paraded was a 30-year old kidnapper who had been at large. Goni revealed that his men has been on his trail till he was apprehended.
He said, “Suspect had confessed that he is part of those arraigned before the court, we will take him to court to align with the case.”
