Gombe APC aggrieved aspirant donates compensation to Governor’s re-election bid
An aspirant of the All Progressives Congress who aspired to represent Billiri West in Gombe State House of Assembly Ibrahim Ishaya, on Friday, donated compensation sum offered him to the re-election bid of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya.
Recall that Yahaya had set up the committee in a bid reconcile members of the party who were aggrieved by the outcome of the primary election held by the party.
Yahaya, had charged the 21-member committee led by Deputy Manassah Jatau, to identify and pacify aggrieved members, promising that the party would compensate them where necessary.
Our correspondent reports that the committee was subsequently reconstituted into four sub- Committees namely, National sub-Committee; to handle those who had grievances during the conduct of National Assembly Positions, while the three other sub-committees to take care of the three Senatorial Districts of the state.
The committee had toured the three senatorial districts, 11 Local Government Areas, addressing aggrieved members in Billiri Local Government Area, the sub committee chairman in charge of Gombe South Abubakar Dantata explained that the reconciliation move was initiated by Governor Yahaya in the interest of peace tranquility and togetherness.
He said, “Determine to ensure an effective Reconciliation process Governor Inuwa Yahaya aside from setting up this committee to interface with you, he has equally approved compensation to aggrieved contestants and appointment letters to all you all.”
Dantata appealed to the aggrieved contestants to sheathe their swords while prevailing on their supporters to channel their energies and strategies in support of the party flag bearer in particular and the APC in general.
Impressed by Governor Yahaya’s magnanimity an aspirant who contested in Billiri West Ishaya Ibrahim described the gesture at reconciling aggrieved contestants as legendary and unprecedented.
“For this reason, Governor’s far reaching gesture i, Ishaya Ibrahim hereby donate my compensation to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya second term campaign organisation,” he said.
He assured the committee and Yahaya that Billiri Local Government Area would do everything necessary to ensure APC’s victory at all levels in the State and the country.
Jatau, disclosed that the assignment before them is tasking and needed to be handled with wisdom and care considering that an aggrieved party should be approached carefully and amicably.
He said, “The committee will meet all those identified as having grievances, those who may not appear before them shall be located where they are based with a view to soliciting for their cooperation and understanding for the benefit of the unity of the party.”
