Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State Charges NSCDC, Other Security Agencies on professional ethics

The Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has charged the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to apply professional ethics in the course of discharging their constitutional responsibilities of protection of lives and property in the state.
The Governor who spoke during the passing out parade of 173 new personnel in the International Stadium Gombe, emphasized the need for synergy among all security agencies in the state for successful operations towards maintaining security.

Represented by his Deputy, Dr.Manassah Daniel Jatau, described the recruitment and training of additional personnel as a milestone development in the service that would boost their activities towards safeguarding lives and property of the citizens.
According to him, ” I wish to call on the entire new intakes to be dedicated, honest and hard working in discharging your duties. I also enjoin you to cooperate with the other Security Agencies in the State. This would help in curbing security challenges confronting the nation, numerous among which are: Vandalisation, Disaster, Terrorism, Cultism, and Organised crimes, among others. This problems no doubt have dire consequences on peace, security, and development of the country, and constitute potential threats to the very survival and sustenance of the nations democracy.
“I would like to commend the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Gombe State Command for rising up to challenges of recruiting and training it’s personnel. Let me also use this occasion to specifically commend the Corps for their efforts in apprehending and curbing some of the nefarious activities within the metropolis and the state at large. This singular act of patriotism has saved the affected communities the distress they faced from the activities of unscrupulous elements in the society.
“I wish to reiterate that Government will not abdicate it’s primary responsibility of protection of lives and properties. We shall also continue to support and cooperate with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and indeed all Security Agencies in the discharge of their enormous responsibility.”
Also, speaking the State Commandant of NSCDC, Waziri Baba Goni said, the Corps started as a voluntary Organisation in Lagos in 1962 and later became National paramilitary Institution saddled with the responsibility of protection of pipeline vandalisation, assisting in disaster periods and other functions.
Goni further explained that the occasion was to witness the passing out parade of 173 new intake into the service calling on them to be patriotic and diligent in the discharge of their duties.
He appreciated Gombe State Government for support which made the event and their operations in the state successful.
The Emir of Gombe, Alh. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar lll represented by the Iyan Gombe and District Head of Kumbiya- Kumbiya Alh. Abubakar Lamido, appreciated the Federal and State Governments for the recruitment of personnel into the NSCDC in order to add strength to the security to ensure protection of lives and properties.
He also called on all Nigerians to participate in the collection of their PVCs so as to participate in the forthcoming general elections.
