Gombe APC receives 616 Ex PDP loyalists in Dukku LGA
About 616 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Dukku Local Government Area of Gombe State, on Saturday defected to the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).

Announcing their decision former PDP chieftain, Kwairanga Dukku, explained that the 616 defectors are from different wards within the local government, noting that they included women and youths
According to him, their decision to defect was geared towards being part of the leadership strides of Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya
Dukku said, “Our decision to join APC is because of the good and purpose-driven leadership style of Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State.”
On his part, Bappah Maru, A former member of the PDP Elders’ Forum in Dukku said, “the efforts of the present administration in addressing water challenge in Dukku convinced me to join the APC.”
Explaining further Maru added, “to appreciate Governor Inuwa Yahaya-led administration for its people-oriented policies towards improving the wellbeing of the people of the local government and the state.”

Receiving the defectors, Abubakar Umar-Goro, state secretary APC, Gombe State said the APC-led government was given to delivering the dividends of democracy.
According to him, the large number of people being received into Gombe APC marked the end of opposition and its prospects ahead of 2023.
“ been further fortified and this means that our chances in 2023 are getting brighter,” the party scribe added.
Also speaking, vice chairman of the APC Dukku LG, Yahya Kole, lauded Yahaya for delivering on his mandate to transform the state,
He said, “that is why we have become a party that everyone wants to join and we will keep receiving decampees as more are coming.
“complete victory at the polls because we will work hard to deliver victory for our party.”
Yahaya, in an interview said the large number being received showed that his administration was meeting the expectations of the people.
The governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Muhammad Magaji, said the addition would add value to the APC.
He added that the addition would encourage his administration to deliver more dividends of democracy towards improving the wellbeing and welfare of the state.
The governor urged supporters of the party to remain strong and united going into the 2023 general election, adding that the unity of the party must be preserved by all stakeholders in the party.
He revealed that all members of the party would be treated fairly in line with the principles of fairness and justice which the APC was known for.
Yahaya said, “We are all brothers with equal rights in the party and everyone’s voice would be heard and we will carry everyone along in the task of developing the state.”
