Outgoing Commander of 301 Artillery Regiment in Gombe attributes his success to God

Outgoing Commander of 301 Artillery Regiment, Colonel John Mbanefor, has attributed his success- story throughout his one year and seven months in Gombe to just God, adding that he held onto God even before he was commissioned in the Nigeria Army.

Narrating to Periscope Nigeria, in Gombe on Sunday after the Thanksgiving Service at the St. James Catholic church, the outgoing Commander said that his background as a Catholic, “a practicing catholic for that matter, a knight of St. Mulumba and I was brought up as catholic helped me to succeed in my official and private life with the fear of God.”

He added, ” First and foremost, it is just God, it is as simple as that, if you hold unto God it becomes easy that I held onto God because I was brought up as a Catholic.
Since, I was commissioned, I have being a Catholic, a practicing catholic for that matter, a Knight of St. Mulumba and all these attributes helps me to spend one Year and seven months as the commander of 301 Artillery Regiment, successfully.”
He thanked God that he would be moving to Defence Headquarters, Abuja where he would stay for five months, before moving to kuru to further his studies in Plateau State next year, adding, “it is just the benevolence of God that i held onto.”
He called on his colleagues to hold on God and do their duties well and extend the hands of fellowship to the new Commander who they knew since 1996.
He advised the new Commander to pickup from where he stopped and do even better than himself in Gombe.

It is will recalled that Col. John Mbanefor had a thanksgiving service to appreciate God for his successful tenure in Gombe.
Thanksgiving Service was attended by top Government functionaries, friends, relations,officers and men of 301 Artillery Regiment in Gombe at St. James Catholic church.The God’s divine preservation, protection, visionary leadership shown to him leading to dutiful performance saw him throughout his eventful official duty in the Gombe for the past 19 months.
Taking his readings from Sirach 20:28-29 and Hebrews 12:18,19 and 22, the Assistant Priest, Rev. Fr. Jude Nadiye, who gave brief homily explained that humility does not centre only on acquisition of materialism, high levels of education acquired neither riches nor social status.
He said one’s commitment with God and humanity radiating his deeds and actions should show whether the person is humble or not.
