Sarkin Shanu Foundation Empowers 110 Women with Skills in Akko
Sarkin Shanu Foundation Women Empowerment Programme has empowered 110 women with skills in Kumo.
The Periscope Nigeria reports that the Foundation supported 110 beneficiaries with materials that would aid the skilled women in the production of soap, shampoo, room freshener, and hairdressing among other skills learnt during the training.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony of the participants at the Foundation office in Kumo, Programme Manager, Yahaya Muhammad Kumo, urged the beneficiaries to utilise the materials well in order to become self reliant.

According to Yahaya, the foundation is funded and fully sponsored by the renowned philanthropist Alh. Abubakar Muhammad Bello, also known by his traditional title as Sarkin Shanun Yamaltu, stressing that the Foundation was geared towards giving back to its immediate community.
Kumo revealed that if most wealthy individuals can emulate Sarkin Shanun Yamaltu to give back to their community, most youth and women would be empowered.
On his part, the Executive Director of the foundation, Bello, congratulated the participants and urged them to utilise the skills learnt in the training which would help them to have a source of income as women.
He said, “empowering women in the community is like empowering the whole community because women are the backbone of their household sustainability and community at large.”
