5,083 Students matriculate in Gombe Varsity
No fewer than 5,083 students comprising of 100 level and Part-time have taken oath to be students indeed in the Combined 2020/2021, 2021/2022 academic seasons.
Our Correspondent reports that matriculation ceremony is an event that marks the formal admission of candidates into the University where they take the Oath of Admission, which grants them the full status of bonafide students of the University, thereby giving them all rights and privileges appertaining to them.

According to the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Aliyu El-nafety who spoke on Saturday at the 15th and 16th matriculation ceremony held at the Gombe state university New Multipurpose Hall, said 2,323 of the matriculating students were from the faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, while 2,045 from the faculty of Sciences and Education while 715 from Directorate of Human Resources.

He said, “Every year, thousands of students apply to seek admission into the Gombe state university but only a few achieve their dreams of getting admission for various undergraduate studies at the university.”
While urging the newly admitted students to study hard and take good care of the facilities provided for teaching and learning.
He disclosed that the university had graduated different set of students from different Departments and they are working in different works of life.
The vice chancellor also urged the students to shun all social vices, “adhere to the rules and regulations governing the university, and keep the environment clean. The university will continue to provide good facilities and a conducive learning environment for learning.”
