Gombe SSG receives NBA leadership on familiarisation visit
The Secretary to Gombe State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, on Thursday played host to the newly elected chairman and officials of the Nigerian Bar Association NBA Gombe State Branch.

The newly elected officials who were in company of the outgoing officials are at the SSGs office on a familiarisation visit.
Receiving them in his office, Secretary to the State Government Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, called for synergy between the Nigerian Bar Association and the State Government maintaining that such partnership with civil organisations like the NBA had kept the State going on the path of growth and development.

While congratulating the outgoing leadership of Barr. Haruna Yelma which he described as most successful and rancor-free tenure, Njodi commended them for their resilience and doggedness and for not allowing self-seeking individuals to use the association negatively.

Njodi further lauded the NBA for maintaining cordial working relationship with the executive, the legislature and judicial arms of government calling on the new chairman and his team to emulate.
The SSG also advised the incoming NBA leadership to be Steadfast and patient in carrying out their responsibilities assuring them of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya administration’s support.
In his submission earlier, the new chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Gombe state Branch, Barrister Ahmad Tukur said they were in the SSG’s office to formally introduce themselves and to also seek for his blessings and support.
The chairman said the NBA though a pressure group operates within the rule of law.
He outlined some of the activities of NBA to include serving as an advisory body to National Judicial Council NJC in the appointment of Judicial officers, organising of law week celebrations, workshop and sensitisation of citizens among others appealing for partnership with the State Government to enable them succeed.
In a remark, the outgoing NBA Chairman Barr. Haruna Yelma, lauded the state government for the support rendered him and the entire leadership during their tenure and asked same to be extended to the incoming executive.
