Northern Traditional Council visits Gombe over Emir’s demise
The Northern Traditional Council has commiserated with Government and people of Gombe State over the death of the Emir of Funakaye, Alh Muhammadu Kwairanga who died recently.

The Council was represented by a delegation led by the Mai Kaltungo, Engr Saleh Mohammed in company of Mai Fune, from Yobe state Alh. Dr. Saleh Idris Ibn Usman, and Hamma Batta from Adamawa State, Homun Alhamdu Gladstone Teneke.

Speaking the minds of the Northern Traditional Council, the Mai Kaltungo conveyed their heartfelt condolences and prayed Allah to grant the deceased soul Alannah Firdaus.
He said,”the council of the Northern Traditional Rulers is headed by the Sultan of Sokoto, HRH, Sa’ad Abubakar III. The council also has the Chairman Coordinating council in the person of the Emir of Gumi. Upon our suggestion as members of the coordinating council, we have embarked on this kind of visit for the first time in the history of the council.
” The council has requested us to convey their happiness over peaceful coexistence, and transformation of the state.
The Mai Kaltungo then presented a letter of condolence on behalf of the Traditional Council to the Deputy Governor for onward presentation to the Governor.
Receiving the delegation, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, appreciated the concern of the Northern Traditional Council for coming to sympathise with the Government and people of Gombe State over the demise of the Emir of Funakaye, Alh Muhammadu Umaru Kwairanga.
The Deputy Governor said, ” we are grateful to you for coming to console us over the death of HRH the Emir of Funakaye. The circumstances surrounding the death of His Royal Highness, send a very big lesson of transient nature of humanity.
“It is a lesson that we should live with the believe that one day we shall die. It is also a message that we should live good legacies to be remembered for while we are gone.”
” May I use this opportunity to condole with the Hama Batta over the death of an ace broadcaster, and a seasoned reporter, Mr. Timawus Mathias, who died recently and many other loved ones that died in Kaltungo and Fune chiefdoms. May God grant the deceased soul eternal rest.
” On the issue of peaceful coexistence in the state, let me say that, Traditional Rulers are part of our success story. We have engaged the Traditional Rulers, Community and Religious Leaders, Youths and Civil Society Organisation, among others in the course of providing security to the people.
“The visit is an indication that the North is moving to the threshold of development. The Traditional Rulers have set the pace and we shall continue to follow in their footstep,” Jatau added.
Government dignitaries who joined the Deputy Governor during the visit include, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, Honourable Commissioners, Special Advisers, Directors General and other government functionaries.
