Gombe Gov restates commitment to reduction of poverty
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has restated the commitment of his administration to reduce poverty through youth engagement.

The governor who made assertion Tuesday when he received in audience members of project T-Max an intervention programme of the Federal Government.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, Governor Yahaya said his administration would welcome collaborative initiatives geared towards enhancing the lots of young persons in the state.
While appreciating the various interventions of the Federal Government, Yahaya assured support for the success of the skills acquisition programme.
He disclosed that his administration has been productively engaging the Industrial Training Fund ITF in training of youths in various vocations.
The leader of the Project T-Max team Mr. Fele Bank- Olema, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Education Intervention said the project is part of government’s deliberate effort in tackling poverty among Nigerians.
Bank-Olemoh explained that the project is in its pilot stage operating in seven states with Gombe inclusive and targeting 2,000 Youths in various skills for self reliance.
The SSA to the President also disclosed that the programme which would last till the end of year is expected to commence tomorrow with the opening of the T-Max portal for interested individuals to register to be followed by a selection process.
The Ministry of Youth Development is expected to serve as the State government link in the project implementation of which Gombe State is among the seven pilot states for the programme.
