The Gombe State Police Command on Tuesday embarked on operation show of force in the metropolis.
Speaking in a chat with our correspondent the Public Relations Officer ASP Mahid Abubakar, said it was geared towards entrenching peace.
He added that there was no cause for concern, adding that would help in maintaining peaceful co-existence in the state.
Our correspondent reports that the patrol vehicles including Armoured Personnel Carriers were about 20, as some residents watched in anticipation.
Abubakar said, “It’s a show of force, surveillance patrol within the metropolis to strengthen security and ensure members of the public of our presence.
“Nothing much it was just the directive of the Commissioner of Police Ishola Babaita, for the joint team to go out on special patrol.”
While commending the general public for the support in ensuring a peaceful State, adding that Babaita, would want more collaboration with residents towards flushing the remaining criminal elements within the state.
“People should continue to believe in us and the services we render, as we assure them of maximum security before during and after the 2023 electioneering process, and for parents to caution, watch over there children and wards as the campaign draws near,” Abubakar added.
