FUK, GSU yet to resume
The Management of Federal University of Kashere (FUK), has announced the approval of a revised academic calendar and resumption of academic activities for 2021/2022 academic session.
According to Malami Ahmed,
Head, Information and Protocol, the school came to this conclusion after special senate meeting.
He said, “This decision was taken during the 6th Special Senate Meeting held on Wednesday 26th October, 2022.
Accordingly, the University will resume normal academic activities with the continuation of registration for fresh and returning students with effect from Monday, 31st October 2022. Also lectures for undergraduate students will continue from Monday 7th November, 2022.”
Also speaking, Jessica Kalu, a student of the institution expressed optimism that the school would fast track academic proceedings.
Kalu said, ” FUK is known for it fast calendar I’m sure they will do everything possible to make sure we recover lost months.”
Meanwhile, investigation conducted by our Correspondent shows Gombe State State University (GSU) would resume academic activities in November, a decision some students frowned at.
A sociology student who spoke anonymously said, “Are they not tired of taking break, many schools have so far resumed and here we are have over two weeks break before resumption. The school is known for it slow calendar. I hate complacency.”
Speaking in an interview with one of our Correspondents Commissioner for Higher Education Meshack Lauco said academic activities would resume soon at the state varsity.
He noted that the school’s Senate has concluded plans to continue with other levels, “Since year one students have been in class for some time now. Recall that before now 100level students have been learning,” the commissioner said.
