Family unity, most important, yet fragile – says Gombe Deputy Gov
The State Deputy Governor, Manassah Daniel Jatau, was among the teeming well wishers who attended the wedding reception of daughter of a legal luminary and friend of the Government of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Barr. Gaius Achana Yaro.
Barr. Kwayirya Achana Yaro, got wedded to Mr. Babatunde Iyanalu at a marriage registry in Ikoyi Lagos last weekend and wedding activities later culminated in a wedding reception at Scorpion Officers’ Mess, WU Bassey Baracks, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The Deputy Governor in a message of goodwill conveyed the goodwill of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and people of Gombe State to the families and congratulated them for witnessing the historic event of joining of their children.
He said, “as a sociologist, marriage is the greatest institution in the society but very fragile in view of its role of influencing the other institutions whether positively or negatively depending on how well or bad it is managed.”
He further explained that managing the families very well have yielded positive results that help in limiting vices that are bedeviling the nation.
He expressed optimism that, having come from different cultural background with the bride, a Waja from Gombe State and the Groom, a Yoruba from Kogi State, the couple have taken the part of bridging the gap of differences which tends to tear Nigeria down.
He noted with delight that the marriage between Kwayirya and Babatunde would change the narrative of tribal differences calling on the couple to live to the ideals of responsible marriage and avoid unnecessary friction that may lead to divorce and alter the plan of God concerning marriage.
In his remarks, Dr. Danjuma Sulai, one time Chief Medical Director, Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital congratulated the parents and the couple for successful wedding.
He used the medium to call on the audience to observe a minute silent in honour of the deceased mother of the bride who would have loved to be part of the eventful wedding except for divine verdict.
The father of the Bride, Yaro appreciated Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and his Deputy for identifying with his family during the wedding of their daughter, praying God to reward them.
Those who attended the programme from Gombe State include Former Deputy Governor Senator Joshua Lidani, Chairman Balanga Local Government Area and many other top politicians.
