The Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, has decried the dearth of reading culture amongst Nigerians, and called for a paradigm shift towards resuscitating the reading culture for a better informed society.

The Deputy Governor made the remark while addressing an audience as a Special Guest of Honour at the launching of a book authored by ECWA General Secretary, Rev. Yunusa Sabo Nmadu Junior at Nicon Luxury, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

He challenged the entire Nigerians to bring to bear their writing abilities in order to document their life experiences and other educational articles for updating the people on new development towards acquiring knowledge for the good of humanity.

He said, “writing of books keep people’s names alive, even long after they are gone, they are remembered through the books they have written.”
