Gombe revenue boss resumes work, calls on workers to show dedication

The newly appointed Executive Chairman of Gombe State Board of Internal Revenue Service, Alhaji Salihu Baba Alkali, has resumed work after taking over from the former chairman Abubakar Inuwa Tata, on Monday.
Alkali, who is a Financial Management and Taxation Expert tasked the staff of the service to rededicate themselves to service with patriotism, commitment, honesty and hardworking to change the narratives for better service delivery.
Carrying out inspection across the offices on Tuesday, Alkali who retired as the director at the Federal Inland Revenue Service ( FIRS), Abuja, expressed optimism with his findings.
As a Certified National Accountant of Nigeria and Nigerian Institute of Management , he promised increased revenue generation to the State Government, training and retraining as well as the improvement of welfare and allowance of the Staff.
The Executive Chairman also promised optimum utilisation of all the available resources at their disposal to achieve a progressive and eventful results in the state.
Meanwhile, he had previously served as Executive Chairman of Gombe State Board of Internal Revenue Service and will double his performance and record with the support and cooperation of the members of the board.
It may be recalled that on 20th October, 2022 according to the statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Director-General of Press Affairs stated that Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has approved the appointment of Salihu Baba Alkali, FCA, FCIT, FNIN as the Executive Chairman, Gombe State Board of Internal Revenue Service.
The statement added that the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi conveyed the Governor’s approval which took immediate effect.
