Gombe Summit: Committee assesses level of preparation, ascertains readiness
The Chairman Committee on preparation for the first Gombe Investment Summit, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, has led members of the Committee to the International Conference Centre, venue of the programme to asses and ascertain the level of preparation to ensure hitch-free staging of the summit.

The committee was received by the Facility Maintenance Manager, Engineer Emmanuel Istakis, and Aisha Yakubu of Onyx Consultants, organisers of the submit.
The Chairman who is also the Deputy Governor, expressed satisfaction over the speed and quality of work done in the venue to ensure success of the programme.

He said, “we have seen and heard all about the activities on the venue. There is a great improvement over what we have seen when we first visited.
“Let me appreciate the consultant who, mastered the building as if she designed it. May I also commend the facility manager for putting in place a very good work, and for ensuring the safety and protection of the facility. They are doing very well to give us the best preparation towards success of the summit.”
Speaking on the work at the Industrial Park, the Deputy Governor explained that, already 200 youths were employed at the site doing different activities, pointing out that when the park is finally put to use, the number of youths that are going to be employed will be enormous.
He said the Committee is sensitising the people of Gombe, in view of the need to be hospitable to the visitors that will be coming to the state during the summit and after.
He noted that the hospitality of the people of the state will not only determine the success of the summit but, even the influx of investors coming to invest in the state.
The Committee inspected the working escalators, the main meeting hall , where the seating arrangement would be according to sponsorship, and relationship, in the order of major investors, medium and small scale investors.
The consultant explained that arrangements are made for virtual and physical participants, the great and the lowly, assuring the Committee that the summit is going to be great.
Members of the committee who, accompanied the Deputy Governor include the Commissioner for Higher Education and overseeing Information, Mr. Meshach Audu Lauco, Commissioner for Trade, Industry and Tourism, Alh. Nasiru Aliyu Mohammed, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Naomi J.J. Awak, and Commissioner for Internal Security and Ethical Orientation, Alh. Adamu Dishi Kupto as well as the Special Adviser on Budget, Planning and Development Partner Coordination Office, Dr. Ishiyaku Mohammed, and Directors among others.
